Dental specialists complete two to six extra years of training after dental school and usually work on referral from a general dentist, although most accept patients who call directly. Orthodontists straighten teeth with braces and clear aligners; endodontists handle root canals; periodontists treat gum disease and place implants; oral and maxillofacial surgeons extract wisdom teeth, place implants and do jaw surgery, often under IV sedation; prosthodontists rebuild smiles with crowns, bridges and dentures; denture centers focus on full and partial dentures, relines and repairs. Sedation and hospital dentists serve anxious patients and people with special needs, while TMJ and sleep-apnea dentists make oral appliances for jaw pain and snoring.

I called North Carolina Endodontics to schedule an appointment for my husband. Before scheduling, I specifically explained the reason for my call and made it clear that I wanted to confirm they were in-network with our insurance before moving forward. The receptionist took all of our insurance information, including the plan, ID number, and other necessary details. I was told, β€œYou’re in network, and the total cost would be $103.” Based on that information, we scheduled the appointment. I received a call today stating that they are actually not in-network. I was then told that they don’t verify or run insurance until the day before the appointment, even though my husband’s appointment isn’t until September 11th. What was most frustrating was the lack of understanding or an apology for the misinformation. Instead, the conversation became a back-and-forth about who I may have spoken with and their process for checking insurance. If I had not specifically asked them to verify our insurance before scheduling, I could understand the situation but I did ask, provided all of the requested information, and was given a specific confirmation of our coverage and an estimated cost. I had a root canal and had no idea what to expect. What I did get was incredible sympathy and kindness like no other. They did everything beyond my expectations. I expected pain and discomfort but was I received was relief and kindness. I would highly recommend this organization if you are looking for a truly caring staff. The Dr was incredibly caring supportive and understanding what I was going through . Thank you

Dr.Yip is a top notch endodontist. Could not recommend him more if you need a root canal treatment done. Very nice staff, made the process quick and most importantly as painless possible. Five stars.

My visit to NC Endodontics was amazing! I had a root canal that I was very nervous about having due to a previous experience. I was seen by Dr. Yip and his assistant Clarence. They kept me calm throughout the procedure and were very good with communicating and answering all of my questions. I’m currently one day post procedure and I received a follow up call to see how I was doing. No pain, no swelling, no issues. I actually feel very normal! Thank you both for such a pleasant visit. I would definitely recommend them and I would definitely return for future treatments!

I had to get my first root canal. Dr Tumare Iqbal and his assistant Clarence were top notch. They were kind, comforting and had great bedside manner during the procedure. Great sense of humor too which I needed in those moments. Couldn’t have had a better experience. They will take good care of you.
